Bet your glad that you did...I had a coin spill last year..5 silvers...I actually passed it up cause it was a scratchy signall..then i stopped and went back to it....it is the multiple signals on top of each other that makes it a scratchy signal.

Well done !

Epic day out friend ! Rare to find a silver dollar alone - the half and dime put it into really special territory .

Wow! Congrats nice large silver haul!

Now I definitely have to go back and check a deep weird signal I got last year at a school! I thought it might be a class time capsule, but maybe not!

What a thrilling recovery. What are the dates on those coins? Were they found in the same hole? They might have been "lost" at the time of the Great Depression. I wonder if those coins were not really lost, but were actually buried together for safekeeping. During the depression money was very tight and many people were hungry. One would have spent a long time looking for $1.60 in lost silver. It reminds me of something that happened in my family a few years back. When an elderly uncle passed away, the family was cleaning out his dusty, dirty basement. Underneath a big pickle jar was found a sizeable number of silver dollars--all from the late 20's. The family figures "Unc" hid the silver dollars for safekeeping during the depression and never went back for it. He was always a very frugal man, a trait of many who lived through that period of American history.

:hello2: :occasion18::occasion16::wav::occasion16::occasion18: :hello2: Wow! That will always be a magic day for you! I also found a 1923 Peace silver dollar in an odd way - on the surface!

Your experience shows us that we shouldn't make assumptions about the odd signals. Andi
