Hello all, had the possibility to go out and dig a spot with a pristine yard. Owner is super nice and said have at it. So we made sure we cut the grass out like sod so we could roll it back in place. Turned out nice. Onto the dig. It was about 6 feet deep and loaded with goodies. Wasn’t too far down and came across a Rex Bitters. A nice local medicine and soda bottle. Then we came across a Ponds laxative blood purifier. Most everything in the pit was whole. Even got a couple Masons. But one after the other the Bitters were popping. Ended up with 12. Three are tooled and the rest are ABM. Just at the turn of 1900 this pit showed quite a bit of use. A doctors office was right next door so maybe he dealt with illnesses with blood or whatever. It was a great day to dig and get back at it. Hope for more real soon. Take care and be safe out there. Jgas.

awesome,as always. I tend to favor those local druggist bottles, I like the Meyers. Looks like you got a newer Berry Bitters out whole as well...lol.

Great finds! How’d you know there was a good spot to dig there?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think we found one clay marble is all in this pit and one glass button. As far as the spot goes and finding it. We search the Sanborn maps through the years of 1885-1899. In fact we have an internet layover map system that actually puts the google earth map right on to the 1899 Sanborn map so that shows what is there now compared to the late 1800's. Then its tons of probing. jgas

Congrats on the day of pit digging of great results.
It's a winner when there's more intact bottles than broken ones.
The large jar is a sweet keeper.
Liking the variety and the druggist bottle.

I'm interested in the bottles folk find that are of the LOCAL variety, made very near their homes, 100 plus years old, Like the ones you found, and many others that have been posted

Looks like a fantastic haul .I could be super happy right now just to get out and dig almost anything that would be worth saving .A day like that might just be all the fun I could handle in one day Thanks for showing us a very good day.
