Flaking like an onion bottle !! Just a crazy gold and silver mineral crust on this old wine !! Tapped this old beauty out of the mangrove swamp with a bottle probe !! I can see an incredible rainbow benicia patina where the equally beautiful silver/gold patina is flaking off !! Not sure of dates but I thought 1850s-70s. Not sure if I should knock all the flaky patina off, and hope it has benicia staining underneath?? Maybe I could seal the silver/gold patina with Clear cote ? Or maybe just put it on the self ?

Awesome finds, Bart. I especially like the mould/finish on that pumpkin seed, crazy double collar on that one!

Beautiful!
I think the crusting is organic, but adds a lot to the beauty. I'd leave it as is (with an occasional dunking in water).
