🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Brass Thing

Hey guys....I have one for you. I've found four of these things over the last three years at the same sight.
The grid squares in the picture are 1/4"
This item is made of brass. Its 5/8" high and 9/16" at the base. It has a dimple on the top.
The bottom has a 1/16" rim. Inside the rim is a concave surface with a 3/16" , 1/8" deep hole in the center. From this hole there is a channel that extends to the rim.
I found it at a colonial site where I've found two Connecticut coppers and many other period artifacts so I'll put a date of 1790-1820 on it.
I'll be happy to take more pictures if needed.

Maybe some type of rivet.

It does look like some sort of rivet but its beefy and would be difficult to deform.

I don't think it dates that far back.
I would say more modern... looks machine made to me.

Here is a picture of the underside on three of these things. I couldn't find the forth one. The hole sizes are all different but each piece weighs 9 grams.
There aren't any threads on these items.
Huntin Dog...These things could be more modern....I'll be honest..I never thought of that.
The large ID's on the base vary in size by .015" from each other and these ID's aren't perfectly centered from the OD.
It looks like these items are cast then

the base was crudely machined
