This one probably holds a bit more meaning for me than some others as I just got out of the hospital after a heart attack. It was my second and this time, my heart stopped so I got a short visit or preview of the other side, however you want to look at it. What I did learn was that I'm one of the luckiest S.O.B.'s alive. Not because I survived, but because laying there in the ICU reflecting...I realized my life isn't unfinished. I've had the good fortune, luck and capacity to be able to do pretty much everything I had on my bucket list and the only regret I'd have would be the leaving of loved ones. About the only thing I'd really like to do yet and it has as much to do with luck as anything would be to find "my" holy grail...a double eagle.

You should always carry those glycerin pills for such an emergency.
It was on my 3rd back operation that the anthologist gave me way to much. I was in the recovery room when my heart stopped. I was watching from the ceiling on the other side of the room. There was a female doctor in there who wouldn't give up. The third shock and a lot of screaming from her brought me back.
I have run my bucket list except for one last cache that I am working on. Frank

I would like a red bucket.

I already have a white bucket, and a yellow bucket and a green bucket. But I don't have a red bucket.

Do they even make red buckets?

G.I.B. come to think of it, I don't think I have ever seen a red bucket either...at least a non-kiddie one.... :>)

I only get a red bucket when I dont get to go treasure hunting often enough.
I really want to find a cow tag. I thought I did once, but it was a vehicle plate registration tag from 1940. I'd also like to find a silver dollar and any kind of gold coin.
It's not metal detecting, but I'd love to come across a girl's or woman's diary written in the 19th century to read.

Here are a few pics of two diaries that I have. One is from 1879 and has Frank Page on the inside of the cover, but I think that the entries are from his wife Hannah. The second diary is dated 1890 and is Hannah Page's diary. Kinda boaring.......... Not alot of detail, just general every day stuff.

Frank Page was my second great grandfathers nephew.

Okay, seriously now.... my bucket list...

I would like to run up to the car in front of me at the fast food drive thru when the lady with the window that won't go down conducts a transaction through an open door crack and can't open the door all the way because she is too close to the wall and ordered 4 large soft drinks and then argues about the size of her fries... and drag her back to my yard and rub her head in the dog poo where the other neighbor let his stupid dog use my yard as a toilet and~

Stand by- time for my meds. Back in a minute.

Nice diaries and links! Our old newspapers are the same thing. The big news was Mr. Smith's cow was found or someone had company arrive! Still neat though- thank you!

I got to do one on my list in 09. I told my wife I have always wanted to go to Bonneville Salt Flats for the World Of Speed. She said "Lets go!"
There is something about driving flat out.

In my next life I want to do the driving.
