Hello All,

I was out hitting this latest field a bit more and had a bucket lister silver come up! Catch the video here:

BUCKET LIST SILVER

I nabbed several good civil war bullets, including a nice Bartholow and a little colt .44 army which was nose down in the dirt.

Got yet another 1800s railroad lock. Unfortunately the hasp is broken off, and that would’ve had the railroad line/name in initials, but I’m sure it’s somewhere in the field.

then all of a sudden out flopped a large silver coin—or so I thought. It read 7-8 numbers lower than a silver quarter but it had a reeded edge so I was convinced it was my second seated quarter from this field…
When I cleaned it off I was shocked. It’s a gorgeous love token likely made from a seated quarter and beautifully engraved! I’ve wanted to dig one of these for so long!

Last of all I got a weird coin I’ve never dug, nor even seen before. It’s a copper nickel 5 Centisimos dated 1909 from Uruguay. Here’s a non dug version and the one I found lying on top of the ground where it had washed out.

Great find!

How do you know it’s a seated quarter??
I imagine due to the wear on the reeds that it was worn when it was turned into a love token. I guess it could be a capped but they are very scarce down here since we are so far away from the Philly mint… so Occam’s Razor. What’s most likely to be true is good enough for me. Doesn’t matter which it is, ultimately. What matters is the engraving. Also, I’ve dug another seated quarter from this same field.

Beautiful love token Buck.
Congratulations on a top shelf recovery.
They don't come around often that's for sure.
