Me 51 years ago. Before osha. They would not let us wear safety belts. It slowed us down too much. It paid very well back then.

thank you SD. I wasn’t always comfortable but after a lot of climbing you get confident. We were making $5.11 per hour big money back then. 77 years old now. Would love to live those days again.

Thanks Gare. No , none died from falling. A few were injured. And a couple got electrocuted.

Merf when someone died on the job did they break up the team or just replace the person. Some place would break up the team and start s new one

Great shots of the good ol' days. Indeed there was many a contractor up in arms over those OSHA mandates beginning back then. It brings to mind this old image you'd see posted here and there on a jobsite. Seems we've always been pushing back on those who believe they know what's best for you. As for me I've always taken work safety seriously.
