I see rifling marks on at least 4 of them. Someone probably unloaded a mag into the dirt at some point.

Scratch that: all of them.

Some of today’s haul. Small, iron buckle, Possible broken handle from tableware and six bullets. They look to have never been loaded. The diameters measure 0.352-0.356 on my 0-1” micrometer. They were all in one hole close together. Seems kind of weird.
Also quite a few more square nails (not shown). Keep digging!
Nice buckle

Ok. I’m a little embarrassed. I thought I was seeing shovel scratching. With my loupe I can see the rifling marks. I guess I’m astounded that none of the 6 bullets were misshapen on impact. I drove my wife to an eye appointment yesterday. Maybe it should have been her driving me! 🫢 Thanks!

Probably fired into something soft, like snow. After target shooting in the winter, I often find undamaged bullets with rifling marks lying on the ground where the snow bank I fired into was located.
