Button and an unknown item -need help identifying them

Great button !! just a guess on the unknown item, if its hollow, it could be the end to a walking stick or curtain rod

It is a lip stick case. Todd Lipe found one yesterday with the "C" looking letters all around the base.

Great ID from gheenoe78. Your button is an War of 1812 Script "I" (Infantry) button. That is pretty rare in that condition. Very, very nice find.

Revolutionary War era British Uniform item - badge?

Yup, War of 1812 Infantry button; and with a shank! Made 1813 or 1814 (1812 buttons had the regiment number in the circle).
