Button ID help

Richard, In looking in Alberts, it appears to be4 a GI68A except for the fact that it should be about 20 mm in size. The GI 68 come just before the new Great coat Buttons of 1820, so it might be just about right for the war of 1812. It would have a blank shield on the eagles chest, three arrows in the left talon facing out, Olive branch in the right talon and the eagles head facing to his right, all of which yours has. Thats what I thought it was too. Except for size it is identical.Must be a gaitor buttom I think.

After reading where you are from I can tell you it Probably is a Civil War Era Button,most likely a Frock Coat(Fatigue/Frock Coat)Button.Maybe from a Fenian Raider.
