Can you help me put an age to these gold cufflinks?

These were bought, not a detector find. They appear to be most likely sometime in the 1800s, but didn't know if anyone could help pinpoint a more precise date. They are SMALL! Both sets can fit on top of a US dime. Weight is 1.14 or so grams for both of them combined. Gold content is approximately 37% (give or take a couple), 37% silver (give or take a couple percent) and the remainder is copper. Not sure if that would help to date it. I didn't see any maker's mark or anything to help with gathering more information. Thank you for any help you may have!

Although the style/shape is mirroring the late 18th - early 19th C, I think the engraving points to the end of the 19th C, but I'm only 80% confident.

I must agree with Crusader. My initial thoughts were colonial/post colonial, but the engraving is too sophisticated for the time period. Take a look at this colonial set that I found several years back.

Thanks guys, the engraving didn't look quite colonial, so sometime in the later 1800s would make sense. Thank you!
