So I met up with my best buddy Possum at Walmart and off we went to the Old Fort early this morning. Possum just got a new small coil on his new Deus so he called Calabash for some Dues advice He said ‘How it works is slow and low and if you’re not digging pulltabs you’re leaving buttons. Now I did find two”Script I buttons” buttons at this location and that was a pewter solid 17 VDI last year. I never found anymore buttons. So that told me i’m passing them up because I never found anymore so that told me I buttons. 15 pulltaps later I saw roundness 1812 Artillery Corps Cuff Button. There’s lots of different varieties l not sure. Also a Buffalo nickel and a beautiful round ball. IMG_0869.webp

Thank you Smokey. I rewrote the paragraph since I butchered it so bad it took me an hour LOL

Congrats on the button!

Great to read of you two on another hunt.
And without Possum having to consider dragging you back to the vehicle...:laughing7:

You ain’t lying I am so sore right now I’m only 51 but I feel like a 80-year-old lol man lol we’re just two old swamp donkeys digging history and were too stubborn to stop. Last week I went and I didn’t find anything for the fourth time and nothing and I told myself I’m not going to the fort anymore and here we are LOL

Hi , Glad you had a bit of a win buddy . TP

congrats on the 1812 CORPS - i found one on a group hunt when i was like 15 yrs old (1978) at a "cleaned" out cellar hole
adults passed by the hole saying it had been pounded - they went on - i stayed and pulled one identical to yours they all had missed

Some real history there - congrats !

That was certainly worth returning for! :occasion14:

Hey wildcat it’s amazing I said last week after for blanks in the last month I said I’m not going to the fort anymore then I realize that I don’t have any place else to go so me and possum went back and I’m glad we did. It’s amazing that are used a different setting that I’ve never used before and I went low and slow with a small coil. I appreciate it wildcat think you
