My Carp catches are incidental to Salmon fishing using sand shrimp/bobber in inlets on the Columbia River. Gets me psyched when the bobber goes down because they fight deep like a Chinook, disappointment when you see the gold when they roll, but a fun fight!

They do give you a good fight.I haven't fished for anything else in the last three years.

When I was a kid we would bow fish for them in the river close to my house. Also we caught them while cat fishing. They do put up a fight.

In the 1950's/60's Dad and his friends would bow fish for them in the irrigation ditches in Yakima WA - then sell them to a fertilizer plant there for .03# - paid for the beer!
