Thanks for all your replies! I did not know anyone would respond so quickly! I have tried for years to figure this out.

The logo doesn't match for it to be the London company. I think it is from the New England area but other than that there were so many Clark lamp/lantern companies it's hard to narrow it down. I am now trying to search for it based on the logo.

....
Is there a chance that you could remove the burner and reservoir for a few more photos showing how it is installed and if a wick adjustment wheel is present ? Lots of clear pics ! Looking for makers marks and the way it's built / installed .
I swear , I'm absolutely queer for lamps and hand lanterns , oil and electric .

TKS,
MARK.

Does this lamp actually function? I would love this thing burning on a cold winter's night in my living room with my freestanding firebox blazing away.:headbang:

Wish I had it in my hand to inspect . . . So many questions and a guess......
Q...Does the part of the burner that the wick protrudes from Pry (friction fit) loose -OR-
Q...Does that part Screw in/down .
Q...Do the finial nuts unscrew or at least have mating threads showing (the dark / OOF pics just show so little)

An observation . . The lamp has a very small window , is directional (not ment to illuminate a cabin , a TASK lamp) and not having a wick advance mechanism or air mixing vents below .

A guess . . . An instrument lamp ( compass , binnacle , map ) design.
If the burner is a friction fit , I believe it to be a very nice , very early East Indian reproduction , when brass was king and copper WAS REAL SHEET , things were riveted and when soldered were aligned.
The finial....I haven't seen one except for a one off that , when unscrewed , a full length round cord wick was present suggesting the lamp could be screwed to a larger reservoir (for wetting?) And the lamps reservoir was open ended .

Thank you for trying. I am trying too. I contacted a New England museum and I am hoping they will be able to tell me something. I just don't know. In the past I have contacted all the American Carriage Associations and they couldn't tell me either. :dontknow:
