Carved Musket

I found this little lead ball at a 16-1700s french fort site in michigan. I think it is a musket ball that was carved into some kind of game piece, but I can't find anything similar on google. The site is also half burried under a landfill from the 70s, so it could be modern junk. What say you all?

I see what you're talking about, but it may just appear that someone carved a 'V' in this round ball. :icon_scratch:
It's more likely to be what remains of the sprue after the ball impacted a hard surface.

Here are some examples of early musket balls with their sprues still attached. :thumbsup:

That could be it. Maybe if it had the sprue attached and was in a fire or something. I just noticed that the pictures aren't great, I might reshoot them tonight when I have access to wifi.

Isn't today's technology amazing... when we don't have it we need it and when we have it it's often not accessible. :laughing7:
