Cast iron eagle-It's use?

? ? I found this several years ago in an antique shop,it has a small hook at the bottom and may have been used to hang something.Any ideas?

Here's an idea,maybe it used to hang in a small town police station,and the jail-cell keys used to hang from it.You know,kinda like a Mayberry,Andy Griffith type of station. Haa,just an idea.H.H.

There are similar hooks sold on ebay (reproductions) for hanging pictures in fact there is one that looks almost identical to this one. However since yours is made out of cast iron it could have been used to hang a heavy
mirror at one time. HH Bob.B
