found this last week at one of the cellar holes i have been hitting all summer. now finally the heavy weeds and brush are starting to thin out. its gold about the size of a quarter. no markings only. royle 57th. this site also produced a nice 1818 largie. any help would be great-!

It looks like a very nice napkin ring. Just a guess, but worth researching from that side of the question.

That's a gorgeous find! The fleur de lis motif may indicate a French origin. My first thought was napkin ring, must must have been some wealthy folks dining there!

Great find. Without seeing a pic of the backside, my guess is part of a pocket watch chain. You can see wear in the center when the swivel has worn a grove.

had it tested for gold content. 14kt. on the back its only markings are royle 57th maybe old military solider keepsake?
