I'm new to this and 80% of my detecting so far has been urban. Lots of trash, nails and bottle caps. It seems my detector often makes noise at either end of my swing, like it beeps as I'm changing direction. It feels like it happens so often I'm wondering if other detectors/people ever notice errant beeps or tones when changing directions with your swing. Is that a thing?

Make sure the cable is tight and also start the wrap of your cable up the shaft, over the front of the shaft not the back. The coil will pick up the wire in the cable if you start your wrap from the back. Those two things could be your issue not sure though.
