I found it where I have found all my War of 1812 buttons. But it was probably just a civilian button I don?t know

It looks like a 3 piece button, is that right? If so made after 1835 and its toast.

Great save is right. What you have found is the state of La Pelican button and surely dates Civil War. I can point out details if you need but the bottom pic is the front and I clearly see the wings at 10 and 12 o'clock. Rough but still a good relic.

Looking at that last picture, I also think I see a bird on it. Probably a Pelican.

Hey Va Dave please point out the details for me it?s very rare to find a pelican button in Louisiana since all of our boys went to Virginia BUT I was lucky to find on at the same place. [emoji631] PNG image 5.png

Looks like this LA Local I found here in Va. Arrows at 10 and 12 o'clock point to wings and you can kind of see the bent neck/head to the right in between. The bottom arrow points to what's left of the nest.

Yes it points to the nest of babies.
Hey PA my other pelican boat was small smaller than this one I thought that was a code button I thought all the code buttons measures around 13/16" in diameter. Mines 27.7 mm. I can see all the points where you’re showing me and I do fully believe it would be my second Louisiana coat button I’m just wondering which one

Yep cross out old and add LA. La coat buttons measure anywhere from 18 -23 mm, so yours was likely flattened to the 27mm, and I see no evidence of a raised border or lined field like the other comparison.
