Maybe this is old news. I hunt mostly in iron infested areas with iron turned on at a lower volume. When I get a mixed signal, high number and low number at the same spot I pump the coil above the target. If I just get the low tone iron signal when I pump. I move on but I have discovered that I get a high tone when I pump it is usually a non ferrous target.
