Here are my finds from this past weekend (my first with the metal detector). When I pulled up the toy car I just started laughing and remembering when my brother and I were kids, during the summer my neighbor would come over and we'd all play with my brother's matchbox cars. I guess we forgot to pick one up!

Top row: Buckle from a pair of suspenders (?), 1978 penny, modern bullet casing (interesting because no one in my family has ever shot a gun),
2nd row: All wheat back pennies: 1917, 1935, 1942, 1945
3rd row: Matchbox car, square nails, hinge

Welcome to TreasureNet, Fidge! It looks like you're off to a great start! 8)

Nice wheaties! :)

Nice digs Fidget, better than my first for sure.Welcome to the forum.I guess you started out in your yard? That's the best place to get acquainted with your new detector.Looking forward to your posts.Good luck and H.H. :)

These were all found in my yard, but my very first time was at my grandmother's house. I found a broken rusty hinge and 36 cents, earliest coin was from the 1980s. She has a very old farm house, so I can't wait to explore around there more!

This will probably mean more to you than any gold you may find. I am trying to get permission to to hunt on my grandparents place (160 acres) and try to find some of my old childhood memories. Congratulations
