You guys are likely right and good advice by smokey, but if you do not find it there try some older Vietnamese coins. Just in case cannot match with Chinese. Remember we do have a bit of a connection to Vietnam and their older coins very similar to Chinese, I think.

What you have is a Chinese cash coin.
I can't read the reverse, but the front reads
Dynasty: Ch'ing (1644 - 1911 a.d.)
Emperor: Sheng Tsu (1661-1722 a.d.)
Reign Title: Kang Hsi (1661-1722 a.d.)

Going to add some info for reference for future searches. The mint mark on the back (photo is not clear) appears to be minted in Beijing. Below is wiki with mint mark info.

This should help OP.

Pinyin names:
Dynasty: Qīng Cháo清朝
Title: Kāngxī 康熙

Side Note: Kangxi Emperor is famous for authorizing an important Dictionary still used today when researching Ancient and Classical Chinese.
Wiki:

Link to the online version of that dictionary

Happy Hunting
