Hello All,

This week’s episode is very special. My wife got her first civil war belt plate! Took her a moment to figure out what it was, but she just had a hunch that it was good and walked it over to me in the field! There’s also a stunning first year seated dime find (the very first coins minted in 1838 in the New Orleans mint were seated dimes coined from melted-down Spanish silver reales). And there’s one of the nicest condition half dimes I’ve ever dug. I also got a slick farthing-sized colonial copper, and what I believe may be a 1700s Russian kopek of some sort (first two photos—any assistance is appreciated!) The half dime was a surface find! (Surface finds here are not uncommon from the rains. I’m also including a bonus photo of my surface find civil war six pounder cannonball from two weeks ago!) Of course my wife’s first plate and priceless reaction are caught on video, as are lots of other old finds. Please enjoy the video and pics :)

Wow, those are just some incredible finds, congrats!
So cool to eyeball things that old just right on the surface!
It’s crazy and almost feels like fate. No other feeling like it, and it’s truly a blessing to be in a place where they still plow. To be honest the rows here help the wash, so it moves more dirt, that the crops are all up on berms that wear down over successive rains.

Enjoyed the video....looks like a fun place to dig and poke around in. Those seated are quite great, the plate is in a condition I would just leave it in. Congrats to you both.
Thanks so much my friend! I think she’s planning on leaving the plate unrestored :) it displays just fine so she’s thrilled with it.

Thank you so much my friend! It’s nice to do regular videos of good quality now. I like going back and watching the old episodes with the wife :)

BB, Congrat's to both the Mrs. and yourself on some Great Saves of the U.S. Plate, and the surface find 6 pounder. Well Done All Around on some Saved CW History.
