Believe this to be a carved round ball or bullet. It has two hole that run parallel threw the middle. Looks to be some sort of time passer for a man in the civil war. If anyone has any info as to its shale and designs please shed light. I think one side looked like a face

You just had to use Civvv as the title... didn't you. Nice find. And make up your own terminology. :laughing7:
 

Not sure what civvv is, but I think it is a lead seal. There would be a steel wire that passed through the holes and the seal was pressed stamping it together. They were used for various things, in my area they seem to be found in conjunction with the railroad.

Lol sorry just was posting fast and if came out Civvv I guess diggers has got to me a little. Ya I have found two finch train buttons on the site. It is an old homestead location barely touched by me that is. But very significant. It yielded my very first CSA button. But I believe the button was taken from war and had been there as a personnel item. That's for the knowledge.
