Hello,

I had noticed today that the bottom of my coil on my Excalibur 1000 was starting to separate at the seams. Is this a common problem? What can I reseal it with since I am starting to get some sand in the seam? I generally use a coil cover on it but while rinsing machine today I noticed problem with coil. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

This is not a common thing and you should send it back to Minelab asap. Don't try to seal it yourself as this is definitely a warranty problem. Let us know how it goes......

Sandman is right, send it back to minelab. In th early excalibur days this was a common occurence in the small original fin like coil. It was caused by poor moulding with bubbles in it. The coil would get hot if left in the sun the air inside the bubbles expanded splitting the coil. This is probably what has happened to yours. Seeya Neilo

make sure its not the coil cover comming off! there was a guy that sent his back just to find out it was the coil cover fit loose.

PLEASE DONT TELL ME IT THE EXCAL 2??????

some guys throw the cover away and coat the coil with 2 coats of Marine Epoxy !

I use epoxy on the WOT on my land SOV GT, but it isn't under warranty. I have heard you will void the warranty if you do it one one still under warranty.
