That is an awesome record you have going. I have a sandwich bag full of non-US coins that I save for a grandson. Think I'll go look them over.

Vpnavy, you've got quite a system and way of tallying your recoveries :)

Just curious, how often do you check coinstars? I'm not addicted, I can quick anytime :)

Nice! I found something neat in the coinstar recently too...a key date Canadian nickel!

Never heard of "key date." Don't think I am the only one - So, I did a quick search:

"...A key date coin is an issue that boasts the lowest mintage in the series or has become the rarest coin in the series..."

Nice, and with very little effort :)

I rigged half a metal yard yardstick with a small thin piece of metal at one end (looks like a T) to scrape out from under machine...did it to many machines finding roughly $75 in clad and a few silver dimes and a 1937 Washington
I've been thinking about using a window washer squeegee or whatever they're called...but something flatter may work better....nice to see I'm not the only one thinking this...being discreet and quick is probably a good idea...

Great job on the record keeping !

I've kept detailed records on my metal detecting finds since day one - started 16 years ago.
But I just put any CoinStar finds I get (not all that many) in a small box - no records kept.

I just add them to my coin roll returns...and anything over the $100 box gets deposited at the bank... the Canadian finds hopefully get spent in Canada... other foreign is sitting in discarded medicine bottles.
..not sure what to do with those....I just don't have the patience to document all the finds...except to post here on tnet...
