Sometimes copies of Collins' History of KY can be found in used books stores, Good Will Stores or even on eBay. It is a wealth of information about the state and many of it roots. This has been reprinted dozens of times and worth the $20-$30 that is usually charged for used copies.

I have read those years ago. They give you a lot of ideas to search out. The Draper Manuscripts also has a lot of Kentucky History. I do not know if they can be obtained or not.
