I got out this morning to my 1766 land patent farm that I received permission at over the weekend. I had a decent day in the field. I dug the 1853 Braided Hair large cent at 6" and it read 90 VDI. The Dandy button was a double-blipper and was on top of the ground. The holed artifact is a tombac button that was made into a washer.

Keep the passion high!

Kirk

Glad to see you getting out Kirk, and getting back on track with the coppers. Your motivation level must be quite high after making some nice finds like that. Hope you can do it again soon .... Bill

Nice finds Kirk. Hopefully there's a few more finds to be made there. With the site age, you would think so. What are the rules of the land patents again? I remember Bill D explained it a little once. You have to build a residence on the property within a certain amount of time after the patent is granted, correct?

You found some of everything I love finding. That would make the long miserable winter a bit more bearable.
Is that a lead spill on the right? Great job!

First off great day in the field Kirk. That's a pretty high reading for an lc isn't it? Wonder why. I have a T2 and I think the Pro is usually about 5 numbers lower. My LCs usually come in around 88.
Evo most of the land parents around here required a dwelling be built within 2 years. It's amazing how many places never had a residence built. Not sure how it was in other places

Hello live in mass Looks like were digging in the same spot. That's what I'm getting. The only two things I don't have is the washer with the hole and the pencil end. I threw that away.
