They say lightning does not strike you twice but it hit me again yesterday. Keith and I were digging in an area we had found numerous spectacle buckles, a Spanish cob and other colonial items when I hit another find of a lifetime! It is called a posey ring and was very popular in the colonial times. Usually given as a gift with an inscription (or short poem) written on the inside for the recipient. In this case the inscription says "MYNE EVER THINE". Bill Dancy let me know it is on page 216 in his book ""Discovering Virginia's Colonial Artifacts". Thanks Bill! I also found a trime, indian heads and other awesome relics. Who thinks I should have a professional jeweler straighten it? Here is a link to the video

That's an awesome find! As far as straightening, some would be against it, but odds are it didn't go in the ground crushed, so i'd personally have a professional straighten it, it'll look as good as the day she lost it if done right.

Another fantastic find, Steve-I would highly recommend having it professionally reshaped. Did you have the other gold colonial era ring restored/reshaped?

Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy watching them.

They were getting less popular in the colonial times & were far more popular in the Medieval/late Medieval period. However, I get your meaning & its a outstanding find - CONGRATS
Probably banner worthy.

PS, they tend to be close to 22Kt, so can be fixed/straighten easily.

Excellent find. 18th century gold in any form (ring, cufflink, coin or other) just doesn't show up very often.

I see you have been a member since 2007 with 4 Banners but only 78 posts over that time. You should start sharing some of your "average" finds...some of us might like to see them

Spectacular find. 🙌 And I vote straighten it. I've had it done to two of mine and they just look sooooo much better.
