Got out a few more times to the construction site that we have been pounding and dug some amazing stuff. Bottles, old coins including 2 shield nickels, a flying eagle penny, 2 indian head pennies, a barber half dollar civil war bullets, a large brass door with columns and a possible find of a lifetime- a small gold ring that could very well be from a Civil War Confederate solder? Enjoy the pictures and the full video is on the link below.

A great bunch of finds!

Gold rings found on the land not the sea & not play parks are a rare find in my books.

Not sure if you can see the hallmark, but I can't ID it in the picture, so how did you date it?

The pictures are actually what is on the mark, which is nothing inside the rectangle stamp. I'm basing the date on the location where I found it on this site, which was close to the confederate buttons that I found in previous hunts and also pictures of similar types of rings that others have found at confederate camps. Most of the rings back in the day were silver. Gold was a very rare thing. Many of the civil war soldiers were young boys and they would wear there rings on the pinky finger- tiny rings and plain. Anyway, I don't know if there would be a way to actually confirm anything but I am happy to find gold and document the indigenous stuff from this site. Here is a picture of a confederate soldier with a similar pinky ring on.
