For the 3rd time now, I've gone out to go detecting, only to find my controller to be dead. The first time, I assumed human error... that I had somehow simply forgotten to turn it off. The 2nd time it happened, I started to get suspicious of something wrong, and now it has happened again. There is no way that I neglected to turn it off three times!

I thought I saw a thread here where somebody else reported that problem, but I can't seem to find it now. I suppose I'm gonna have to give Moe a call on Monday. Sigh...

Well that sucks to hear.
I thought it had the capability to turn off a period of inactivity
Maybe I'm just dreaming that one.

Sounds like a Battery issue. Bummer.
Maybe, but I don't think so. The battery seems fine... 99% of the time. I suspect the sleep circuitry "wakes up" sometimes.
