I have a chance to buy an old very lightly used Fisher TW6 2 box detector for $40.Missing the rod that joins the two boxes. I dont know alot about them. Will they detect meteorites on the surface if Im walking through the desert? Anyone know if I can build a big coil ( big square pvc pipe type of coil) for one of these or modify it to accept one?

Bad idea. Do some more research on Pulse Induction detectors and All Metal VLF machines

Thanks Terry, I tried to find a circuit diagram for a big coil detector a while back but to no avail.
