As stated on the bill you should have demanded they pay the bearer (you) on demand. Should have requested a payment in either silver or gold coins.

funny thing about those bills is they wont mark right if you use one of those fake bill detectors. was at wally world once and all the cashiers were gathered around looking at a bill. had to ask them what was up and they said somebody just came in and passed a phoney bill. i looked at it and it was one of those series 1934. i reached in my pocket and took out five 20's and said i would take it and all the other bills they got like it. should have seen the look on one of the cashier's face. after about a day all the marks they put on it wore off.

Those old bills are cool. I have a handful of them from various banks.

A lot of times when I cash in I will ask the tell if they have any old "small headed" bills. Most of the time Its 1995. I tell them they're for my redneck savings account... mattress money...

Usually they're not that old... 1995 is common, but over the years I have managed to pick up about 40 bills that are of a series 1963 or before with a couple of them being star notes. About a dozen of them were Red Seal United States Notes (mainly $2 bills) and a couple of $1 silver certificates (blue seal).
