Hi guys!

I have a question and maybe someone here can help me out.

I'm just starting my detector adventure and in the beginning, I bought a used Garrett Ace 150 at a very affordable price. I want to see if it will suck me in and become a real passion. So for now I do not want to invest too much, especially since money is tight. I heard that you can make a cover for the electronics and coil yourself. Does anyone have their own patent for this? I don't want to spend that much money again, and from what I've seen these are not the cheapest things. I would appreciate any advice.

Welcome!

You probably cannot make a coil cover for less than a factory version.

As far as the electronics cover you can look at a suitable version and use your own unit for the pattern. Play around with some heavy paper to make a suitable pattern and then sew up your own. The difficult part will be finding the material for the transparent face plate.

Here's a look at a "professional" version.
