I have been trying to pinpoint the location of an 1809 cabin site on a property in Caswell County, NC. There is a newer 1919 house on the property and the digs have mixed vintages making it a little difficult. Someone lived in the home until 2015 so there is a ton of can slaw about. For this site, coin totals are 9 wheats, one indian, one 1943 Canada Cent, 1946 Roosevelt and 1944 Mercury dime.

For today, I dug a 1941 cent, 1914 cent, 1909 cent, 1951 cent and a 1901 Indian Cent. Finding three 100 year old coins in a couple hours is fun! The only 1800s relics I found today were the two brass toe taps. I love finding those! No flat buttons yet, will keep digging!

Nice Finds!!!! Congrats!!!! Does the 1909 have V.D.B on the reverse rim at the bottom? There was a 1909 P with and without V.D.B.

No VDB unfortunately! I am 100% confident. This coin is CRISP on the reverse too, just like the indian.

Congrats on the cents.

Often wondered why I don't find any of those toe taps, when you guys get so many.
They weren't popular (still aren't in England.) North America they were for a few centuries, but not as much now. France, Switzerland second nature of protecting the shoes.

Though the large holed version as shown is a different one, never dug one like that before. Actually when I first walk onto a new site the toe tap is a great indicator of good things that bight be there.

Congrats on the nice looking IH, lovely rich patina on it. Looks like you a fun day of digging.
