Crotal bell (broken) - makers mark?

Hi everyone. I recently found these pieces of a crotal bell, and fortunately one of the pieces has at least some of the maker’s mark. Looks like a backward “S” with an “o” next to it, at least it doesn’t to me.

I can’t find this mark anywhere. Can anyone help with identification please?

It's not a 'O', it's part of the decoration either side of the S. Yours would be a ?[first name unknown], Surname 'S'. If you look at the top link & only include the 18th C examples, there are several choices, so you would be guessing to get a full maker.

Thanks Crusader. I was afraid that I might not have enough of the bell for an exact identification (I searched the area around the two pieces for more of the bell, but sadly I didn't find any more.)
I guess I have to hope that someone recognizes the mark. Thanks for the link - I like that site a lot.

Here is mine from a few years ago Brian

Old age brain happening again-I think it's a US maker-not a UK maker if I can remember right.
I should of labeled it on the photo when I looked up the maker.

Because the 'S' is in retro might narrow it a little more. (Although a fairly common mistake)

Possibly T S, Thomas Swain 1771-1781 London. Others could be I S, actually J S , John Stares 1743-1746 or John Seller 1733-1760 York

I think this is a match to yours. Mine has the same backward S. This was found on our farm in southern Ontario, Canada.

That's really a great looking one also.
I recovered mine 45km NE of Kingston.
