Hey all,

I put out 30 postcards around my neighborhood last weekend asking people permission to detect their planting strips and a handful have already gotten back to me. I chose one house this morning and got to work.

Nice thing is this neighbor only lives 4 blocks from me! Had a productive day there for about 3 hours of detecting. He was really nice and let me do his yard too. So many targets, so little time!

Here are the finds.

Finds:
-1 Merc (37D)
-1 Rosie (58D)
-6 Wheats (14, 37S, 38, 42D, 44S, 48S)
-2 WA State tax tokens
-1 Seattle Transit token

Feels good to extend my consecutive hunts with silver streak to 6. There are silvers 30 and 31 FTY (combined with my brother). Nice to get my first multi-silver hunt under my belt with the new machine.

The Rosie is a little blackened. I've noticed this with multiple silvers that I've found under cedar trees. Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Congrats on a wonderful permission in a beautiful city!!!

Congratualtions! :occasion14:

CTX is paying for itself already

Never sent out postcards asking for permission. Interesting twist. Looks like it's working quite well. I just go up and knock on the door. Overwhelming majority say yes. I have a little advantage. I'm a real estate broker and can search the tax records for home by year built. Before I go out door knocking I pull up a list of the homes in any give town that are built between 1700-1800. Has worked well. Nice going. I like the postcard idea.

Excellent diet that you put the CTX on. Two Silvers and Six Wheats. Everything else was gravy
Congrats

I. Love the post card requests - do you give them postage to return the card??

2 silvers!! What a good yard.

Nice!! Aren't You Glad You Upgraded

Thanks man. I'm really enjoying it. Appreciate your tips too, I had to adjust the sensitivity a lot today because of power lines. Glad you showed me how it works. Good luck at the old honey hole!

Thank you! Yeah, I just use the Zillow app to look up home age. Most in my neighborhood are from late 20s.

Thanks! Yes, it's been super effective. I've got 99% yeses by following up in person on postcards where they didn't respond. It's a great icebreaker.

I just put my phone number and email address on the back of the card. People aren't too responsive so a lot of follow up is in person layer.

I'm actually going to mail some ahead of time to hopes in Spokane for a trip and taking with my brother later this month. The lots are so much bigger there than in Seattle!

Great hunt and the post card idea is very intriguing, can you share one as an example?

Nice job on the Wheats and silvers. Congrats

Sure thing, working on some different varieties for the future but I've got so many permissions and potential permissions lined up from my most recent batch that I'll be busy for the next couple months before needing more.
