Sold his inherited share of the enterprise that owned the land on Oak Island to the Laginas. And then let his shoes do their thing.....

After Dan Blankenship admitted on the show that there was no treasure on oak island a few seasons ago, Dave had a hard time attempting to keep a straight face in scenes where they attempt to showcase something as legitimate.

He saw the writing on the wall that the current hoax scheme was winding down and getting harder to continue the weekly script of teaser bobby dazzler finds, out house holes being called “entrance to tunnels”, and yet even more ridiculous fictional theories.

He took the money and jumped ship (not the fictional ship in the swamp).......

Probably didn’t want to be involved in the upcoming oak island theme park in the plans...

That would be a fun theme park. Take the ride that goes underground and enters a glass tube passing through C-1 where you can look directly at the wall containing gold coins!

Dave... Saw That The Island Had Run Out Of Crown Royal Whisky.

Crown Royal.png

If you noticed towards the end of Season 6... "The Fellowship" stopped with their after work drink at the Pub...And by the end of Season 7... Dave was not drinking alcohol in public at all.

Dave's apparent drunken language on air may have started to embarrass the Laginas.

The Show is stating that Dave will be making regular visits on the Show...Sober Visits!

What happened to Dave Blankenship on Oak Island?

"If you watch The Curse of Oak Island, then you noticed Dave Blankenship seemingly has an injury of some kind, as he limps a bit when he walks. In an episode that introduces Dave, he actually explains what happened to him. In 1986, he fell 46 feet on a job site, and suffered from a stroke when he landed because of a disengaged artery on his neck. After waking up from a coma, the then 36-year-old Dave had to completely relearn how to walk and talk again. Unfortunately, Dave has little to no feeling on the left side of his body to this day.

However, don't think that anyone can easily take Dave down. According to his History Channel bio page, Dave has "never let it slow him down. He can take on anyone half his age and often does."

Dave still lives on Oak Island and is listed as a member of the Oak Island Team on Wikipedia. With his dad gone, maybe we'll see more of Dave in pursuit of the hidden treasure to make sure Dan's memory lives on. This is bound to be a wild season — with new tech, all kinds of wild discoveries about Oak Island and its history have already been made."
