Day 2 new permission. 5 silver's,1808 half cent, 2 large cents and a NJ copper!

Started back at the new permission this morning with a nice solid 3 inches of frozen ground. Started out with a new jersey copper, my first in almost 3 years. It's thick, but pretty warn. Next came the beautiful 1818 large cent. After that followed with my first ever capped bust large cent, 1810. Fourth copper was another first, an 1808 draped bust half cent!!!

After that little copper frenzy was over, I went back to the spot in the field where I found the silver's yesterday. I got real deep, scratchy iron signals, but with silver like numbers. All over a foot, I pulled out five silver coins in a 2 by 2 foot area. First was a Washington quarter, then a barber quarter. Then came another first for me, a 1918 walking liberty half! I nicked it with the shovel though. Darn thing was over a foot deep and since the signal was faint and scratchy the pinpointing was off. Then ended up getting another barber quarter and a washington!

Also got several relics. The usual buttons. Not sure what the large brass horn shaped(pipe shaped) piece is. It was deep. Nice bone handled pocket knife and a few other odds and ends.

My best coin day by far. So thrilled and on cloud nine! HH!

Wow, that is one heckuva haul, those LCs came out absolutely beautiful! I'm not sure if the patina on those would come off if washed, but I'd love to see them after they get cleaned regardless of method used. Sweet finds covering 3 centuries, hard to beat a hunt like that, congrats! Also, mind if i ask what detector and coil you were using?

F75, stock coil.

Absolutely fantastic hunt! I love the patina on the old coppers.

Another great day on the new site! Lots of big silver coming out of that place, but the old coppers with the sweet green patina got my attention. I'm amazed the ground isn't frozen down there!

Your copper pipe thing looks like a tea pot spout.

That's a great site you found. The coppers look great! Can't wait to see day threes finds. HH!

It was, Steve. About 2-3 inches frozen. Broken my shovel blade.

Congrats on a killer hunt. Those coppers are beauties. :icon_thumleft:

All I can say is, WOW!

Man that's amazing

While there may not be a single banner item in the bunch , I'm voting banner because of the rarity of finding ALL of those in a hunt ,
and the age ,and appearance of these on the whole is spectacular !- the silvers in addition to the Draped Bust Half Cent
the Classic Head Large (1810)- this is a very special day you had !

The LC and HC stand out as new. It's almost a shame to clean them.

What can I say to this? Wow!!!, that's been said ....what a haul?.....thats been said too. but hey? those responses are valid, thats a great day detecting with amazing recoveries.
I will say this.....I'm jealous....yup, you da man here.:hello2:

Thank you. Yes, I agree, although I wouldn't nominate myself for banner. lol You don't see days like this too often and very glad to have had it happen to me! Not to mention the 2 plates yesterday and 3 silvers. This site is pretty dang awesome!

What a great hunt, liking the coppers and the silver aren't shabby either! Congrats on the second hunt.

The pipe thing is off a kettle I believe.
