Detector(s) used
XLT , surfmaster PI , HAYS 2Box , VIBRA-TECTOR
I know there a lot of branded users out there, but let's not even mention brand names {restrain yourself, I know you can do it!}
List the features of a detector that are most important to you.
Example: water use, landuse. dept, sensitivity, discrimination, weight, size, multi-use, speciality, Indicator panels-ID, etc.etc. List them in order of importance to you. You can also list primary and secondary detector features if you rely on different types. Again please, no brand names!

1. Depth
2. Discrimination

That's all I really care about.

1. Land Use and Water Use (you usually have to seperate the two into two different machines).

2. Discrimination

Depth
Accurate target ID
Discrimination

1. Tone I.D. (Like the 4 tones on the Fisher CZ's)
2. Depth (There are still numerous deep silver coins in the parks in that 7 to 9 inch range)
3. Analog displays. ( Digital displays are sometimes unstable, jump too much)

MIKE, you just had to mention that brand didn't you!!!!
I figured some of you branded people would loose self controll!!!!
Read the title and lead in comments please!!!!
And if you have any honor, Repair your post.

Mixed mode
Rely on sounds
Use the screen just to pinpoint and depth
Dd60

All purpose capabilities (land & water)
Quality
Good depth capabilities
Good descrimination capabilities
Good ground balance capabilities
Battery life
Hip mount capability (when I go I hunt long hours, usually all day, so this is important to me)

Power (depth)

Sensitivity to small non-ferrous objects

Thats what floats my boat. :tongue3:

1. Ability to pick up small items
2. Reliability

Discrimination doesn't matter to me as I hunt in all metal mode for relics.

Reliability! Nothing else means squat if the machine is not reliable.
