Die with coin inside?

Dug this up the other day at an old home site near saltwater where I previously found 1700s coins. It?s non magnetic and it has weight to it. Might be silver and it?s about the size of a quarter. What do you think?

Years ago on T-net someone posted a gas can cap that had a silver dime glued into it. It was from the 1930's when people would carry water, gas, and oil cans on in a rack on the running boards. We assumed the dime was emergency gas money. Maybe something like that...
