Looks to be very thin. My guess would be a spanish 1/2 reale. But can't be certain due to lack of detail. Either way...Nice score on the old silver!

It is extremely thin. Thinnest one I've ever found.

Dirtdigger, you were correct. It's a Spanish 1/2 reale. You can see the column on the right hand side and the upper/lower right hand quadrants of the shield. You can also see a piece of the crown
