discovery 3000

i was wondering if anyone could tell me where i set the knobs on my discovery 3000 (63-3012) to find gold nuggets. i have the manual but im pretty stupid & cant understand them very well!! any info would be very much appriciated!!!!

eileen, its nota stupid, its uneducated. I have a Radioshack discovery2000 and I don't know how to use it very well either. I'll have a look to see what my book tells me to use.

The Radio Shacks are made by Bounty Hunter. They sell a 4 inch coil for nugget hunting. I have a Discovery 1000 and have used mine in between rocks at the lakes and close to metal playground equipment. The coil pinpoints the coin very well. Have not used it to search for gold nuggets yet.

Ditto what Gretchen said, the 4 inch coil works best, at least that's what the manual says for my 2000
