Figured it wouldn't hurt to get a long handle sand scoop before going to the beach. Didn't think I would have enough time to order one plus with money tight the best option would be to try to make one.

Here's my finished product. Still need to get a magnet for the inside but I think other than its ready.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry pics coming in a moment, couldn't get them posted from iPad.

Looks you did a great job, only thing I notice is that the scoop is small. Other than that it loos very well done.

Looks like you did a good job. What did it end up costing you to make?

Thanks!

I was really wanting a 5" ELL but the largest I had was a 4". Thought about even going up to 6" but figured I'd see how the handle holds up first and if there are any mods to do.

Most of the stuff I had laying around since I work with fittings. I figure total cost is in the $40 range with about half in the cane.

Nice scoop! I like the walker handle for the shaft. I was actually about to make one for my beach trip next week and I think I will use an old walker like you. Thanks for the post!
