Went to a park today that was opened recently. It butts up on a farm that dates back to 1701. Found this and a navy? button. Will definitely be going back. Didn’t know these were only minted for 8 years! Couldn’t pull a date off it but happy to have it narrowed down. Other coppers were found this year and are just for size reference.

Well done on the copper and the button.
Certainly a return hunt is in order.

Whoa I think youre right! If that’s the case, it looks like only 4-5,000 were ever minted that year!
My source indicates that 476,000 were minted.
