✅ SOLVED Dug up black rock abt 6" down. Or glass?

Dug this up in my yard in Minneapolis Minnesota. Next to fence post. A rock ID app says obsidian but that seems unlikely around here.

I believe you found a bit of Glass slag. Due to brown translucence and glassy appearance.

Just adding that it's very hard, can't chip off very narrow edges like glass might. Also photos are deceptive. Here's a photo from above and then from the side without moving the rock.
