Found this yesterday at an 1800's farm. Did some research and I believe this is a South western Navajo Indian spork from the early 1900's. Looks like it's hand made, the stamps and cuts are not symmetrical..Could it have any value?
I grant you it has the design of a Navajo eagle, but what makes you believe (if you do) that it was manufactured by the Navajos or is from the early 1900s (and not, perhaps, a modern souvenir)?
Just asking..........
Don.......
Well there aren't any markings on it at all, I'm just going by the feedback from others and research online. I really don't know what to make of it.. It's definitely silver and unique
When I first retrieved the spoon it was kind of rolled up/bent.. I straitened it and caused some cracking in the metal.. At first I thought it was plated but I'm pretty sure that's the silver splitting..
What an odd thing! I agree it looks old and hand-made, very primitive. I think this is "something"! Interested to see what others think or any more info you get on it.
