Hi everyone. Normally it seems like I'm detecting vicariously through Crusader and blossom but this week I'm out in England detecting. Yesterdays finds were pretty awesome. I especially like the sword holder!

Well done!
That bullhead is nice and crisp. Usually those are well worn.
Hope you have a great trip.

Good start the silver 3 pence is harder to find than a hammered.
You have a Victorian horse harness gag loop. (don't see a sword belt hanger anywhere)

I had heard that the 3 pence was rare. Bummer on the sword belt hanger as the harness gag was identified as that.

Nice finds so far! :icon_thumleft: In what part of England are you hunting? I'm heading over tonight for 10 days or so to detect.

I normally metal detect vicariously through everyone, but, yes Crusader and blossom have deeper history to uncover. Good for you! I am glad you were able to go over and detect. Awesome finds!

Is that a coin that has the big #3 on it & is bent? That's a nice haul. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, sorry for the delayed response. Yes, the item marked with a large 3 is a coin and while it has no yet been properly identified from I can tell is a 3 Pence - George III, which were minted 1762-1786.

I've been collecting British Coin since I was 9 years old. This period & just before is the most difficult to find silver dates. I think they re-coined most of them during the shortage. If they are difficult to collect, then they are difficult to find because during shortages, they looked after them better.

I'm very fortunate and lucky to have found it. Thanks for the info CRUSADER. Do you think I should try to un-taco it, or leave it bent?

I would leave it unless a professional heated it up and did the job properly, although the cost of it would be more than its worth, so up to you.
