There is a Baltimore City park that produced lots of Indian head cents when I hunted it with my Fisher F75.

I tried the same area today with the Equinox 600 and came away with more "hard fought" Indians.

First IHC is an 1890 IMG_6901.JPG next was a bit deeper, an 1889 IMG_6899.JPG and the last was the deepest,

from about 7 inches,

an 1884 beauty IMG_6897.JPG .

Nickels were ringing in at 12 or 13 and I ended up with five, the oldest being this 20 something Buffalo IMG_6892.JPG .

Also chasing down a nickel signal I dug this ladies Seiko dress watch IMG_6889.JPG IMG_6890.JPG IMG_6891.JPG .

Incidental findings in two holes were marbles, one more common IMG_6888.JPG and the other, what I call a "dreamsicle" marble, shown here is four views

IMG_6884.JPG IMG_6885.JPG IMG_6886.JPG IMG_6887.JPG .

Of course along the way I ended up digging scores of square nails and big iron, pull tabs, can shred and a couple bottle caps.

Thanks for checking out the post!

Nice recoveries. That 1884 is one fine coin. Looks like it was dropped right from the mint. Congrats.

Thanks Johncoho! That turned the clock back today. Looks like an 1884 one cent had the spending power of a 26 of today's U.S. cents.

Really good hunt. Three Indians and a Buffalo are a nice gathering. You can ask for a marble I.D. on our Marble Sub Forum. Cheese is our resident marble expert.
Congratulations on your finds.

Thanks Brad! The pile of nails I dug in the process started to weigh down my side bag; did get one half horse shoe.

Great finds Mike, and Congrats!

Is that a quartz Seiko? If not it wouldn't surprise me if you said it started running when you picked it up. Tough timepieces and accurate. I know you guys are joking about the marble but as much lead in the coloration of things back then it wouldn't surprise me!

Best wishes and good luck!--------Phil
