Thanks for the info Eman! I just got my 600 today and that will be helpful this weekend when I get to go out and use it.

I find I'm using the pinpoint less and less each time because I can do a combo of wiggle forward and rotate 90 and I pretty much know where to dig. I put my pin pointer on the ground before I even dig at the parks just in case its a surface find.

I think the concentric coil has some advantages, when a coin lies on edge or diagonal, because the DD coil can only receive signals that are reflected straight upwards whereas the concentric outer coil receives from all directions, what the small inner coil has send to the object.

True and why my CZ-21 does much better with coins on edge.

Coaxial coils are marginally deeper than DDs in mild soil but DDs perform better in mineralized soil than coaxials.
